Advanced Standing: Medical courses taken at other recognized medical schools may be considered for transfer credit on an individual basis. Students who hold a Ph.D. degree will be given consideration for credit for coursework in the Ph.D. discipline, on an individual basis. AGUSM does not grant advanced standing to students for work done in schools of Podiatry, Allied Health, or Chiropractic. Requests for advanced standing must be made at the time of initial application to the University.
Admission: There is no deadline to apply to AGUSM due to its rolling admissions; however prospective students should plan on completing their application 4-5 months prior to the term they are seeking. Semester terms begin September, January, and May. AGUSM reserves the right to change entrance requirements, application procedures, and admission policies at any time, without prior notice.
Entrance Requirements American Global University School of Medicine requires a minimum of 90 semester credits of college level courses for admission to the School of Medicine. Although a baccalaureate degree is strongly preferred, students who have demonstrated exceptional scholarship may be considered without a baccalaureate degree. College credits must include the following:
- Biology - One year of Biology, including Laboratory work. Prospective students will benefit by taking courses in one or more of the following: Genetics, Cellular Biology, Developmental Biology, and Comparative Anatomy.
- General Chemistry - One year of General Chemistry, including Laboratory work.
- Organic Chemistry - One year of Organic Chemistry, including Laboratory work. Coursework should include both aliphatic and aromatic compounds
- General Physics - One year of General Physics, including Laboratory work. General introductory coursework should include mechanics, heat, light, sound, electricity, and nuclear radiation.
- English - One year. Satisfactory written and verbal skills are necessary.
A generous exposure to mathematics, humanities, and social sciences is desired. Real life experience in the health care field is strongly recommended. Additionally, a personal interview may be requested at the discretion of the Admissions Committee.
Selection Factors: The Admissions Committee considers many factors as relevant predictors of a good medical clinician. However, as medical school is a rigorous academic challenge, the Committee must be satisfied that a prospective student has the ability to successfully assimilate the curriculum. Evaluation for admission is conducted on an individual basis. Students accepted to AGUSM are selected for their intellectual and social maturity as well as their wide educational and social backgrounds. Problem-solving skills, critical judgment, and the ability to pursue independent study are also of high consideration. When evaluating academic achievement, the Committee considers factors such as course load, difficulty of the courses, and major area of study. In the non-academic area, maturity, emotional and motivational factors, and personal integrity are considered essential determinants. Requirements for Graduation To be awarded the M.D. degree from American Global University School of Medicine, the eligible student must satisfactorily complete the medical sciences portion of the curriculum as well as all required 72 weeks of clinical rotations. Furthermore, the student must pass the USMLE Step 1 and all core examinations. The student must fulfill all financial obligations to the University, including a $1,000 graduation fee, while complying at all times with the Student Honor Code (set out under "Policies").
Non-Discrimination: The University reaffirms its policy of non-discrimination regardless of race, color, religion, age, sex, disability, or national origin. AGUSM reserves the right to schedule classes or examinations on any day of the week.
Tuition and Fees: AGUSM reserves the right to change its tuition and fees at any time, without prior notice. Upon acceptance, accepted applicants are expected to submit a non-refundable $1000 USD seat deposit to reserve their placement within the accepted semester.
Curriculum: AGUSM reserves the right to change the curriculum at any time, without prior notice.
Conduct of Classes: The University reserves the right to schedule lectures, laboratory sessions, conferences and examinations at any time and on any day of the week, including holidays and weekends.

Code of Ethics: AGUSM students are expected to comply at all times with the Honor Code, a collaborated effort between faculty and students.
Honor Code: The student is embarking on a career in a profession, which requires of its members high standards of ethical conduct and honesty. It is expected that each student will make a personal commitment to abide by the Honor Code as exemplifying a standard of behavior which will form a firm basis of future professional conduct, as well as showing respect for the academic environment. This implies avoidance of any form of intellectual dishonesty, and the demonstration of respect for the rights and well being of others, including all students, faculty, staff, patients and members of the community.
Technical Standards: Technical standards, as distinguished from academic standards for admission, consist of the minimum physical, cognitive, and emotional requirements to provide reasonable assurance that students can complete the entire course of study and participate in medical training and practice. Applying students will be required to sign a declaration that he or she meets AGUSM's minimum technical standards as a condition to admission.
Learning Disability Test Accommodation: Any student who would like to receive learning disability test accommodations must complete all documentation as outlined in USMLE guidelines and arrive at AGUSM with supporting materials and test results to be reviewed by the Director of Operations-President/CEO.
Acceptable Internet and E-mail Usage Policy:
The following establishes operating principles and acceptable use policies as they relate to the Students use of the Internet and the email services provided by AGUSM.
Students are expected to conduct themselves according to the standards set out in the AGUSM Honor Code in general and specifically as set out below.
- Responsibility and Respect - The Internet is a network intended for use by users that act in a mature manner. The Student recognizes this principle and undertakes at all times to act with respect, courtesy and responsibility, giving due regard to the interests and rights of other Internet user groups. This general guideline carries with it the following specific responsibilities:
- Improper Uses - The Student will avoid violation of certain generally accepted guidelines on Internet usage such as restrictions on mass mailings and mass advertisements, pirating or copying of software, mail bombing or other methods of attempting to deny service or access to other users, and attempts to violate security.
- Compliance with Laws - The Student will ensure that his or her use of the Internet complies with all applicable federal, state and local law and regulation, including but not limited to those principles of law which protect against compromise of copyrights, trade secrets, proprietary information and other intellectual property rights, libel or defamation of character, invasion of privacy, tortuous interference, and export of technical or military data to prohibited countries.
- Validation of Information - The Student is responsible for validating the integrity of the information and data he or she receives or transmits over the Internet.
- Security - The Student is required to protect the security of his or her Internet account and usage. The Student's password should be treated as private and confidential and not disclosed to or shared with any third parties.
- Discretion and Judgment - The Student is expected to use discretion in the treatment and handling of Internet information and data and to take particular care to insure that adult information is not transmitted to juvenile users of the Internet.
- Pornography - AGUSM adheres to U.S. laws and regulations regarding adult-related material. Students must not publish pornography using AGUSM's email account.
- Net Abuse - including but not limited to activities such as using a non-existent email return address on a commercial solicitation, spamming (sending unsolicited advertising to numerous email addresses or newsgroups and/or generating a significantly higher volume of outgoing email than a normal user), allowing spamming by third parties to promote a web site hosted by AGUSM, trolling (posting outrageous messages to generate numerous responses), mail bombing (sending multiple messages without significant new content to the same user), subscribing someone else to a mailing list without that person's permission, cross-posting articles to an excessive number of newsgroups, or attempting without authorization to enter into a secured computer system. AGUSM reserves the right to determine what constitutes net abuse.
- Excessive CPU Usages - Students using excessive amounts of CPU processing on any of AGUSM's servers may have their account suspended on a temporary or permanent basis according to the discretion of AGUSM.
Repeated offenders, having been warned of unacceptable email service usage, may be subject to disciplinary proceedings in accordance with AGUSM.
