Steps to Become
AGUSM Student		 Action and resources required to get into medical school

STEP 1
Check the Requirements:
  • Premedical Science Program (Premed)
  • Medical Science Program (MD)
  • Advanced Standing (AS)

STEP 2

STEP 3
Obtain an
Application Form:
  • Online AGU Application
  • Download Fillable Application Form (PDF format)
    • The link will launch Adobe Acrobat Reader and open the PDF Application in another window. You may fill it out on your computer and print.
    • If you don't have Acrobat Reader installed, you may download the program from Adobe Website.
  • Request a printed application form
    • Use the electronic form to request a printed AGU application form and AGUSM catalog to be mailed to you.

STEP 4
Complete & Submit
Required Documents:
  • Completed Application Form along with $75 Application Fee
  • Two passport size color photos (2" X 2")
  • Official transcript(s) or diplomas:
    • MD Applicants - official transcripts from all colleges attended
    • Premed Applicants - High School diploma
  • Two Letters of Recommendation
  • Brief Resume
  • MCAT scores, if available.
  • TOEFL scores, if applicable.

STEP 5
Undergo a
Phone Interview:
  • Upon receipt of all required submittals, the Department of Admission may schedule a phone interview with the candidate to evaluate his/her motivation to study medicine and to ask questions regarding submitted documents.

STEP 6
Expect the
Final Decision
  • Within two weeks of the interview, the Director of Admission makes a decision on the application.
    • If approved - a Welcome Packet will be sent to the student.
    • If denied - an explanation letter will be sent to the Applicant.
